Hello all!

I have completed my thesis project, "Autistic Workers: Invisible People". Some of you are quoted in it! I cannot thank you guys enough for your support and guidance as contributors to this project. I will be seeking to publish some findings in one or more journal articles. I'll have to rewrite some sections and see if I can get a co-author. Cross your fingers!

You can see my findings here: https://autatwork.wordpress.com/

The overall picture that I got was that autistic people are functioning as a hidden population in the workforce. A large hidden population. There were astonishingly common struggles, which I do not believe are a factor for most neurotypical workers. There were also very simple and effective strategies for common problems that I was excited to hear. I think sharing these experiences will help other people become more comfortable and productive at work, and will have a side effect of helping companies better utilize their autistic human resources. I also think many of the work experiences can be adapted to help younger people, perhaps in high school or college, so that they have a better chance of success once they reach adulthood.

I enjoyed reading it.

Are your advisors happy with it, and when do you have to defend it?

Bet you are glad that is over! Congrats!

Thank you! It's already defended! Thank goodness! 2/3 of my committee members gave it their final sign off. I'm just waiting for the third, but I don't expect that one will want further changes.
