Mislabeled Prices?
Taking customer calls at the Walmart home office, one thing I hear a lot is that the store had an item marked under an incorrect price. The customer tries to purchase it, oftentimes at a price that anyone with common sense should know can't be correct (do you REALLY think you're going to get that $9500 tv for $95?), and then throws a tantrum when they don't get it. What do you guys think of this? If an item is marked under one price, should that price be honored even if it's not correct?
Personally, I don't think so. Mistakes happen. The store shouldn't be forced to take a hit for something like that. Plus, we don't always know why it's mispriced. Maybe the customer was the one who changed the price in the first place, or if not them then another customer who came by before them. Also, by that logic, if the store accidentally marked a price as higher than it really is, are you going to insist the store honor that price? I mean, if the only thing that matters is what the tag says, then you really couldn't complain...

I assume it's on sale when I see something priced that's lower than it usually is & sometimes I decide to buy the product because it's cheaper. I've also noticed at various stores checking out that items sometimes ring up more expensive than what they should cost. I worked at WalMart for over two years & they would usually honor the lower price if somebody said something thou they may have an employee check the price out 1st. it sux that you have to pay attention when checking out incase it's priced more than what the tag says it is. I am aware that mistakes can happen but feel like it's misleading when a store doesn't honor the lower price, especially if it rings up as more than what the item usually is. I cant help but wonder how many people decided to buy the product because they thought the price was cheaper & they didn't notice when checking out or didn't want to bother saying something & thus end up paying more for something they wouldn't of bought in the 1st place if they had known.
