job in audio/visual
Been getting concerned and stuff about always getting fired and losing a job fairly quick.
I love music a lot and am always attached to it. I get in trouble at various jobs due to breaking down during a criticism, not getting along with co-workers, and being so bored that I do music related stuff.
I figured I would look for jobs in audio/visuals. Anyone have an idea on how I can look for these type of jobs? Anything to stop me from getting fired so fast. I would be willing to accept radio too as I have done that before for one semester but it's super competitive (unless anyone can help me or 2...)
Kinda desperate for answers.

The media industry is a pain in the ass to get into. I only just started getting contracts as a Camera Assistant and Dolly Grip after I found a good producer and DP to work under who get regular work.
My advice? See if you can pitch in on any local independent film productions as a boom swinger. Work your way up through to a mixer role, spend your dough on rent as well as on getting your kit sorted. Don't expect to get to a top teir media position in a heartbeat just because you have a degree. There are people out there that are much, much better at your job than you, who are good enough to earn decent rates. Start from the bottom and work your way up. That's how i'm doing it.
If you are a musician, Ever thought of conducting lessons?
...Or, ever thought of giving YouTube a go?

I don't feel confident enough to give lessons. I just started all this. I don't expect to earn great money at this point. I just need to be able to have consistent income flow as well as being able to stick with a job at least a year or 2. I guess DJing with a Drum & Bass collective for free at a back bar and getting a free drink ticket does not count now does it?
