I found a much better position in another company and when I get a formal offer, I would like to first go on vacation and resign during that period. It is perfectly legal to do it like that where I'm from, but is it burning the bridges?

I don't really like most of the management because they don't value me. But they are afraid that I could leave. For example, when one employee found out I was marrying someone out of country, management found out and we had a meeting with everyone about my potential resignation.

I'm not happy with my current employer, but I still want to be fair. I'm the only one who knows best our servers and if something breaks they will be screwed. But on the other hand, just two days ago they screwed me over by not even inviting me to a meeting with all the project leads and developers (even though I'm one of main developers) about my project which was happening in the nearby conference room. If they don't talk with me about project plans, then why should I disclose my plans earlier than I have to?

Oh, by the way, I forgot to add that I will get paid for unused vacation days so I'm not losing money, but I'm losing vacations because new employer doesn't have to give me any vacations in the first 6 months. So if I don't take them now, then I will be non-stop working for 1.5 years without any vacations. I have done a lot for this work and I feel like it's enough.

I do not see any problems with it, you may want to take it up with your union representative.

If they don't value you - you owe them nothing. You can offer to be available on phone for 3 months if they have any questions. You should already have written comprehensive system documentation, if they are unable to use that it is their own fault.

Too bad about losing vacation days, but that's common when changing employer. Just deal with it and move on - you will (hopefully) make your life better.

I got two weeks of vacation. That means that I will resign during vacation, but only in the middle of last week. I think it's a good compromise. Enough time to rest and to pass over my work. And remaining month will add up to a decent bonus.
