And then after the day long interview... They want to do another interview? Wow this place is complicated! This second interview is shorter however and can be done if I wish through Skype but they must be interested in me if they want to interview me a second time? 8O

I agree - you "passed" the day-long interview or they wouldn't be doing this next step.

Do a lot of deep breathing and don't let your thoughts run away from you with unfounded assumptions and what-if's that could undermine you. Try to be relaxed at this interview, whether it is on Skype or in person.

And good luck!

Being more realistic I'm putting my hopes up, maybe. The long interview was for a different but related position. I was the only one that went to that one viaing for my position because I live close enough to drive there, I was the only person viaing for my job that went to that. I noted in the email they sent me there are 9 slots to choose from for the shorter interview so 9 or less people were asked to interview for my particular position out of however many who applied (it was a mass email I think unless they sent out other dates to choose from to other people). But is it to my advantage I did the daylong interview too? I think so.

Congratulations. Since you are being asked back, you did great.

I found out though that their included housing I can't bring my husband... Maybe being away from him for awhile would help me decide if I really love him, which I'm not sure of anymore but that's another story...

I have that a while ago... a second interview. And then, a short while after that I got (physical) mail that they invited me to come and sign a job contract. On that last appointment they say I can start a week later. Apparently they want to prepare the computer environment for my arrival, so that I can start immediately on the first workday.

Two months later I was fired. I was a programmer. Colleagues told me there is a severe shortage of programmers, but that didn't prevent them to fire me.

That is certainly great to hear that the interviews are progressing so well for you, hopefully we'll see soon that you were able to get the job.

I had an interview with another place today that only lasted like 20 minutes. It has very irregular hours and only pays minimum wage but that one I wouldn't have to move. I hear if I'm hired in two weeks.

There is a serious problem with the one I have a second interview with. Only I can stay on their property but the uncle I live with now doesn't want to deal with my husband if I'm not here. My husband takes offense to that saying he's not a dog and can take care of himself if he stayed with my uncle. It's interesting to note my husband doesn't seem a bit upset at the idea of me leaving for 6 months and seems to be encouraging it. Edit: I suggested offering to pay extra rent money to my uncle if I leave my husband there with him but my husband hates the idea for some reason.

Yet another place I applied to said they would contact me next week to set up a possible interview. And a temp job out of state I haven't heard from in a while (the government job) said "oh, I haven't even looked over the applications yet because I got several jobs in front of that one".

Great work Angnix! You sound like a well rounded job-hunter that knows their options :)

I agree with the others, you only ever get asked back for next rounds of interviews when you do good so yay for that! Hiring managers rarely want to waste their time re-interviewing candidates that they have no interest in.

I hope you get one of the ones that you want the most!

Second interview Friday of next week morning via phone... Should be easier this time because the first one required driving one and a half hours then spending all day there then driving home.

Phone interviews are great! I am currently in an interview process where I have had 2 phone interviews so far. I found myself able to focus better and answer the questions better... I used to hate the phone, but in this case it actually made it easier :) No need to focus on any non-verbals, could focus on the job and trying to be a qualified candidate.

It's a really good sign that companies are showing such an interest in you. You're doing great, keep at it!

I talked to my caseworker too and she says that if I'm unsuccessful at finding my own job, there are programs in my county to put disabled people to work, like vocational rehabilitation. My mental health team supports me working despite my bipolar/possible AS. My uncle does not like the idea, but I'm getting tired of him always trying to tell me what to do.
