I figured instead of making two different topics I'd just combine it into one. Anyways I am frusterated with voc rehab because it is taking them for f*cking ever to process my info or eligibility or whatever so I can actually get started with the voc rehab counselor I've only met with once...two months ago. I also got a medical review for SSI, that's the one they can decide you're not disabled any-more and cut you off. I tried to start voc rehab in-time that it would put it off, but somehow my ticket to work thing isn't active which I think its supposed to be when you register for voc rehab. So then when you start working you can stay on SSI and they just reduce the payments based on how much you make. But yeah it is taking them very long and I am not confident I can find a job on my own, at this point I have to attempt because so far they aren't much help. So yeah thats all annoying, probably confusing and I'll just have to deal with it.
Also since I plan on part time work, I was thinking I may look into volunteer opportunities for things I am interested in...to gain experience to work towards getting a job I really like. In the meantime I would gladly scrub toilets, like seriously, if only someone would hire me. But does that even work? Like is volunteer experience taken as seriously as job experience?
And also a drivers license might help, I really just need to quit putting it off...my boyfriend has a car I could drive with him, I am sure he'd be a better licensed passenger than my mom for refreshing my driving skills. There are certainly a lot of job ads I pass up because the job requires that you have a drivers license.

Hopefully it shouldn't take too much longer for voc rehab to process your paperwork. I think the people at my local voc rehab office are a pain the butt. I have to sit on them to make sure my stuff gets done.
Volunteer experience looks good on a resume. My sister is getting volunteer experience to put on her resume so she can eventually get a job.
Having a drivers license and a vehicle really opens up your job options. I am trying to get my drivers license too so I can get a full time job and health insurance. I will age out of my parents' insurance in September. I need to be able to drive myself to any full time job I get because both my parents work and can't drive me during the day. I hope you are able to get your license.

Having some volunteer experience will certainly not hurt your chances of being hired, some employers would love to hire someone that had enough personal drive to work for free.
As far as the drivers license goes, it's a pretty important part of seeking employment. It's not required for some jobs but others it is
