Is Phase 2 a good time to apply for a job?

I've been planning to apply for a job at a local supermarket, that's well-known for providing jobs for young people; but the Coronavirus outbreak has put those plans on hold for awhile. We're now entering Phase 2 up here in BC, and I'm wondering if now is a good time to apply. Would an employer be happy to hire someone during Phase 2? Would there be any restriction that would hinder an employer's willingness to hire someone?

But there is no good time to apply for a job

Sooner or later you have to apply for a job

If the shop at which you are applying for a job appears busy, it’s a great time to apply. Also, if it is a business that just got the ok to open up again, it’s a good time to apply. Employers might take this opportunity to try out new people.

Actually that subject was discussed on TV yesterday. Because of the pandemic, industry has been severely affected. As the quarantine is lifted many people will find that their jobs no longer exist. Many companies are going out of business. Therefore they recommend "The sooner the better."

The early bird gets the worm.

I think it depends on your health. If you are in young, in excellent health, and of normal weight, now should be a great time to apply for a job. If you are fat, have diabetes, or respiratory issues, or just old, you may want to wait until the businesses you apply for figure out how to maintain a safe working environment. It may take longer for some to figure it out. Where I work they are busy trying to figure it out. Most of us are working from home right now.

In my town I've noticed an unusual number of retail businesses with "help wanted" signs in the window in the past week, so it seems like it might be a good time for certain industries at least.
