I've talked to a couple social workers, and I just got off the phone with one... Every single time I mention working, or even stuff like the federal job I want near Detroit, they keep saying I need to find a local, part time position that wouldn't require me to move and wouldn't interfere much with my SSI payments... Or they go as far as saying I need to find volunteer work just to keep me busy... I say I want to move away to get away from family issues and they say "you can't run away from your problems..."

But I am so tired of being so financially defunct... I can't even afford to fix my van's issues and I'll probably have to give it up because the tires need replacing and I can't afford them and it has a slow brake fluid leak that I can't afford to repair... I don't have the money to buy things I like, etc... I'm tired of it and having nothing to do during the day! Why do they put disabled people down so much?

If you are able to work very hard on your impulse control, you can keep those jobs you dearly desire to keep.

It is thought that a person who is unable to restrain his/her emotions is unreliable.

The worst thing an employee (or anybody involved in business or the Arts, including bosses) can be is unreliable. You get fired for lateness even though you are great at your job.

Please don’t feel that I’m criticizing you.

I want to, because that comment seemed a little mean to me...

I just smile politely and do what I want. Success is the best revenge.
