Given a project at work and taken off normal work

I have been given a project which I quite straightforward to do just boring regarding customer accounts and taken away from sales ledger work which is my job title.

I still get to carry on with credit control and purchase ledger tasks

My probation period is at the end of the month and I'm worried that I might get fired.

Is this a sign of the worst?

Have you spoken to your supervisor? Did they give you any warnings before putting you on this project?

I'm uncertain. You might need to talk with a higher up about it to clarify.
