This wasn’t I was expecting.
I’m a new Maintenance Custodian Associate, so it seems like the vast majority of the time I’ll be doing is cleaning restrooms and safety sweeps. I’ve crushed cardboard once so far and did trash maybe two times. The worst part about this job, is that some of the coworkers barely talk to each other. Striking up a conversation with them is hard because they usually say “Have a nice day” soon after they respond. I’m already contemplating putting my two weeks notice in.
The sweeps are the second worst, it’s the most mundane and boring task. On top of the fact that I have to do it multiple times a day. At least doing the restrooms is rewarding to some extent. But just doing those two things will cause me to quit.
Thankfully I still have my old job. Which is another maintenance job, yet I have a LOT more tasks. I was simply expecting the same thing from this job. To wrap this up, Are their any other tasks I’ll be doing? Because just doing those two things the majority of the time will cause me to quit. And I won’t be losing much at all, this job pays 50 cents more than my old job.
