Job Hunting - would like practical advice

Hi,
My employer recently gave me opportunity to seek employment with other companies - i got let go.

I would like “this works well for me” type practical advice from others who are not neurotypical - on job hunting and keeping mood issues at bay.

What works (for you)?

Make finding a job your most important job.  Seriously.  If you are not putting in at least as much effort into finding a new job as you did in working your old job, then you will likely remain unemployed.

Sign up with a temp agency TODAY.

Yep....Temp agencies are great. Some even have medical benefits----though I don't believe very many do.

It's rather like "renting with the option to buy" sometimes. There have been many temps who were subsequently hired permanently. Technically, I was one of these----but when I temped for 2 weeks at my present job, there was an understanding that I was hired on a permanent basis.

Yep....and fix up the ole resume. And make sure it's unique in some way, though not "too" unique.

I almost wish you could "pound the pavement" like we used to do in the old days.

And how about freelance work?

It's not for everyone I spose.

I'm a data entry operator, working as a civil servant for New York City.

I also work as a circulation clerk at a college library.

Nope....not in computers.
