Idk what keeps me broke.

Is it laziness, is it adhd, depression or something else?

I was always into tech and programming. I'm still interested but can't find a way to be an entrepreneur and make use of my 150 iq. I'm so tired of not being successful. People with half my intelligence are making millions. I'm yet to make a difference in this world. Considering how fast the time is passing I'm anxious about what I'm gonna do now. It's midnight here and I'm awake pondering on this.

You're only 26, there's definitely still time to turn things around.

The reason why folks are broke comes down to either too little income or too much spending. And, unfortunately, NDs in general tend to have issues with the income, and often with the spending as well. Some things that are a convenience for NTs are effectively mandatory for NDs, or require extensive effort to avoid spending.

Last year, I completed my A.A.B. and so, it's been kind of top of mind just how bad the advice about money management is in general. (Let's be honest, just like dietary advice, it's mostly for folks that don't have a problem)

If you're looking for some ND friendly tips, I'd be more than happy to share what I've been doing, but nothing is going to work if the income you're making isn't sufficient to cover the essential spending on things like room and board.

COBOL programmers make bank these days. Or, am I misunderstanding your point?

Retired quite awhile ago..from programming and that was on a IBM 370..most of my extra documentation .Has been lost in the last moves ...BUT , ""IF you know someone"" , I might contact ? might be of interest, of making extra money...Part time . :D .Was led to believe that after Y2 K. ,we were all considered beyond the age of dinosaurs .
The ? newer programming languages ? all seem almost like off shoots of the basic, I learned way back in college .
But have not programmed anything using actually coding for upteen years . Was lucky to make into the transistor age
much less IC boards...am still fond of using relays for home electronic interests . But Learned about syntax errors
the old fashion way. . . (Much less read a computer dump,to track errors) . :nerdy:
Comparitively , it was a verboust language,I feel . But when it worked ,it worked .

I don't, I just hang out on sites with a lot of programmers. There's still a fair number of enterprise customers running mainframes. I remember nearly 15 years ago working security in a building that still has some computers with reels being used by a bank to process checks. I have no idea if they've upgraded, but reels were ancient by that point.

I'm going to go with laziness.

Maybe get a job and then become an entrepreneur. Nobody goes straight from no business experience to succeeding as an entrepreneur.

There are lots of members of MENSA who aren't rich.
There isn't a good correlation between IQ and being rich.

But, seem to have both!
I am very lucky to live by myself in 3br home that is paid off.
I have a big rose garden in front for the neighbors to enjoy.
I have private gardens in the back yard. It is surrounded by dense shrubs so I can easily hide from the neighbors.
Or, I can walk to the back fence and side fences and chat with three of my neighbors. I'm also friends with a forth one.
I have flowers from early March to November. Sometimes into December!

My Brother and I decided to handle a troublesome part of our Parent's estate by donating it to Charity!
Most likely they would have gotten it eventually. It's the sort of money that can tear middle class families apart. :D

As for intelligence, I constantly learn new skills. Every couple years I'll find a new hobby! :D

Having a high IQ doesn't mean you're going to be rich.

You said you're into computers, how about a career in IT instead of entrepreneurship? It takes an extrovert to be a successful entrepreneur without expertise in the field.

I find it difficult to believe that a person with an IQ of at least 150 cannot understand why he cannot be successful just sitting on his ass and doing nothing.

Possibly, and unless there's information from a different thread that's relevant, I didn't see any indication that the OP wasn't doing anything.

Some people seem to assume if you're not successful it's because you're lazy.

It's perfectly possible to be smarter than the average bear but struggle with focus, self-discipline, relatability, people-skills, self-marketing, energy - any number of things that you need to be an entrepreneur. Some of it you can learn but neurodiversity makes some of it just very very difficult.

I'd agree with what others have said though - entrepreneurship isn't for everyone. If you're lacking some of those core skills you're going to have a really hard time with it and maybe you would be better off in a job where someone else is supplying the structure to your days and finding the work for you.

I'd get on that coding thing if I were you. If you can do it, do it.
