To some extend I like repetitive jobs. A repetitive job means you can do your work automatically without really having to put a lot of thought in it. Compare to a robot Especially easy when you have a depressed day and cannot concentrate ; no one will notice because you are still doing a good job.
However, my current job is just too repetitive. It is an overload of calls that all look and sound identical, saying the same sentences all over again 300x per day. Also, there is rarely a moment of time between the calls, not a single short break to just take a deep breathe and chat with a colleague to break routine. Every day seems a race against the clock, and time ticks away so slowly with such a boring job. I first covered the clock and then rescheduled my working hours, but none of both helped. I now decided to give up the job and relocate again to be able to get a different job (in Turkey working permits do not allow to change employer when you're foreigner). I do fear however that if I accept another callcenter job the problem will just repeat itself ... if this goes on a bit longer I would almost become afraid of working because I start obsessing about how slowly time ticks away and how repetitive my job is. Being a traveller going from place to place myself, I would love to work in a hotel and deal with tourists and travelling people every day, however I sometimes doubt if an aspie can do such a "public" job...
