Yeah, having a hard time at work right now. I'm in training for a tech support phone job... Today is so monotonous and it's a monday... everyone's being loud and annoying... and I have some major anxiety welling up. Nausea and sweating, nervous ticks... Oi. I feel like running and shouting and freaking out, but I can't. My only releases are smoke breaks and the window looking at the mountains... But then I get yelled at for not paying attention to something I already learned about and fully comprehended like 20 minutes ago....... Feels like high school again. GRRRRRR. \

Just wanted to get this out I suppose. Work is the worst possible place to build up a meltdown, and I feel it coming, but there's nothing I can do about it, there's still 4 hours more of work.... AHHH!

Sorry to hear it, hope the actual job goes better for you.

I had to go to these presentations when I started my job at the hospital.
I'd just get up and walk out when I had enough.
Luckily no one made any remarks about it.
Mostly I'd go straight for the bathroom, but then on the way back I'd wander around the halls a bit... the lectures were at our sister hospital in the next city North of us.

Hope you don't have to do too much of this training stuff.

hang in there. Tech support is actually fun.

Youll get calls from people that are pissed off because their computer doesnt work..and its your job to show them how THEY messed their system up.

Love it.

Intel Inside, Idiot Outside.

Sir, you seem to have an "ID" Ten Tee error in front of the keyboard. Dont worry, I know how to fix it.

(write that down in a piece of paper.. and please DONT tell this to a customer its just a techie joke).

Yeah hang in there...

The first couple of months of tech support really really suck.

Write down everything you think you'll need to remember, IP Addresses, troubleshooting steps etc... People's names and office hierarchies etc..

bide your time and then suddenly you'll have to do things on your own.

If you're prepared, you'll have a great time.

Yeah, I should be alright... I made it through today, that's a start :)

It's mainly how horribly this training class reminds me of high school that gets me. Between the training modules, tests, the immaturity of all those in my class... Right after I made this thread, we went out for a smoke break, and I talked about AS with an NT that sat next to me, which actually made me feel a bit better. Then I freaked out on and yelled at someone that was giving me a hard time, which made me feel much better. Stupid high school mindset, these kids are still in.
