I know many people will not agree with me, but I let my 4 year old sleep in our bed. I have 6 kids and as babies they always slept in our bed, at about 8 months I moved them all to another room to their beds, that is the only way I could sleep. My 4 year old son (with Autism) did not want to sleep in his crib anymore and this is working for us now, I just keep "going with the flow" until something works. I think you need to try whatever you can, whatever works for you even if it's not the norm. I am not my best when I don't sleep so I do whatever it takes!! ! I wish you all the best!! !

to the OP

i am just curious, what are you doing, when you want her to go to bed? I know right now i have roommates, and have problems when they are all awake doing things and i have to go to sleep, I just don't want to, I have to have music on, in order to drown out the fact that there are other people in the house moving about.

oh and I am 23, I still have to have a light on to sleep.

all i have to do is put him in bed and the run myself a bath! who would have gussed that me takin a bath in the next room would stop my son from bouncing off the walls :D

our 7 y/o son didn't want to sleep in his bed and kept coming out so we finally figured out that he didn't want to be alone. Now he sleeps with his 9 y/o sister or with my husband and I in our bed and he sleeps all night now. We have tried melatonin and I'm not sure if it works or by the time we tried it he was so exhausted he conked out....Is there a reason he doesn't want to sleep?
