My 9 yr old is 150lbs and built like an ox and has classic autism, he never got that spanking and hitting aren't the samething and when you think about it they sort of are. So if I had spanked him when he was little he would have hit me back not that we spanked him because it was pointless. so no hitting form ethier side has worked out well because now he could flaten me if he wanted to.

He never got the connection that you're the parent and he's the child and he was being punished for doing something wrong?

Heh, if my parents or grandparents were parents to such a child, they'd threaten such a child with being thrown out of the house if he hit back.

Well, you cant blame the child or anyone on this matter because the child has a brain development disorder or authism that is why parents must have a lot of patients and having an autism awareness is a must for any parents in this situation. Its like hitting a disabled child on a wheel chair when you hit a child with autism.

Thank you edwardsmith :). Jacob is very bright in some ways and still a baby in other ways. For example he needs to be reminded to wear clothing out side of the house but he's got a chapter book tucked under his arm that he's reading. As for punishment there is time outs and the loss things he likes and he is told why in a calm even tone and what he can to do get what he wants. This works a great deal better then spanking or what ever pretty name you want to put on hitting a child.
