DH has been sick since Friday evening (fever, chills and general malaise). Sundays he and Matthew go together to clean up after communion in church. (We have communion weekly.)

Today Matthew went to and from his duties BY HIMSELF!

He went straight to the cart where the trays were, then came back after he was done. I admit I sneaked behind him to make sure he was going to the right spot, when I saw him with the cart, I said, "Forget it, he knows exactly what he's doing!" and went back into the auditorium.

Sigh . . . once again, I misunderestimate my son.
:)

This is a big deal. Congratulations!

Did the same thing this morning. Thought FOR SURE my son wouldn't have set his clock forward for daylight savings time, thought for sure that I would have to run downstairs and get him up, late, and have to really rush for school. Nope. Lights were on, breakfast was had, and he was getting his clothes on. I think I"ll never stop being surprised by this sort of thing. Unfortunately, I'm so conditioned to expect the worst -- I need to STOP DOING THAT.

I am so happy for you! I think it is hard to let go sometimes and just let them try because we are so used to doing for them. I hope this will help you to grab onto hope again!
