Oda Nobunaga
He ruled with an iron fist and relied upon...
Negative Reinforcement to rule.
He had unified most...but not all of Japan.
Toyotomi Hideyoshi
One of Oda Nobunaga's Generals...
he gained power after Oda Nobunaga was assassinated...
by eventually defeating Oda Nobunaga's successor.
He was a man of action...but without enough patience.
During his military campaigns...he tried to force openings...
without thinking of the possibility of failure and planning
contingencies in the event of failure.
He had tried to invade China without first uniting Japan.
He failed in Korea.
Tokugawa Ieyasu
A warlord of great patience.
He defeated Toyotomi Hideyoshi
by securing strategic areas ahead of time...
by waiting until success was more assured...
before striking.
He awarded land and privileges to
his supporters.
He utilized Positive Reinforcement.
He was the great unifier of Japan.
He became the Shogun.
A famous saying depicting the personalities...
of the three Japanese Warlords.
A Cuckoo that did not sing for each...
and their way of dealing with it....

Tokugawa Ieyasu's Shogunate rule...
extended for hundreds of years.
The concept of Patience is a difficult one to learn...
if one doesn't develop forward thinking.
The ability to see the correct path is determined by...
the ability to see the desired destination clearly.
It then becomes a matter of reverse engineering...
to where one stands at the present.
It then becomes a matter of adequately preparing...
one's self and watching for the right time to act...
to effect the greatest change.
It does no good to merely wait...
One has to prepare for the time to act...
constantly.
Patience...
is knowing that the time will come...
and so...the drive to succeed...
will remain undiminished.
To have un-channeled drive...
leads to frustration...
and so...
to giving up.
Life is a marathon...
not a sprint.
There will be setbacks...
and disappointments.
To fail sometimes...
is inevitable.
To give up...
is to fail every time...
forever.
To never give up...
is to eventually win.
Alex has a dream to become a...
Math Professor...
Research Scientist...
Inventor...
Writer...
He wishes to help others...
through his work.
He knows that for him to be able to...
fulfill his dreams...
he must master the fundamental concepts.
He knows that it will be many years of unrelenting effort...
however, he also realizes that effort in life is front loaded.
His most trying years are his school years...
he will have to learn so much...
about so many things.
After, and only after, he masters the basics...
can he think more creatively...
and so...enjoy his work.
Once he gets into the work force...
he will start reaping the rewards...
of his efforts.
With the base of his pyramid built wide...
and sturdy...
all of life may rest upon it.
This is being on a Positive Spiral...
life becomes sweeter...
the more you age...
and the higher up you go.
With this in mind...
one can not only look forward to life...
one can be driven by passions...
so even the preparation is enjoyable.
With a clear vision of what one...
wishes to become...
and with the knowledge of the steps...
needed to get there...
in the most efficient and effective manner...
patience becomes a foregone conclusion.
Patience is not so much a lesson learned...
but the knowledge that with proper preparation...
success follows.
Patience is a realization of the inevitable.
