While I still stand by the basic message of my earlier post, I will also call a truce and apologize for getting so confrontational.

Apologies accepted!

Do want to clarify that I never walk in unannounced or just knock and walk in. I always wait until he says come in. That's one thing I've taught my boys since they were small - ALWAYS knock and wait (the little one is having a bit of trouble with this concept, however).

I was quite proud of myself last night...he told me at bedtime that he has detention on Monday but he doesn't want to discuss it now. I told him I need the detention form so I can sign it, he said he'd give it to me sometime before Monday. I asked if he was tardy, he said no. I asked if he was obscene, no answer. I asked if he got in a fight, he said no. I then said, "So you said something to somebody?". He said yes, but he meant it to be a joke. I said it must not have gone over very well. He agreed. I left it at that and left the room. I didn't press him for details or push him to discuss it then, that can wait until he is ready.

Chipmunk,

Your son is a teenage boy...chances are hes doing exactly what you think hes doing!

Monkey Spanking...

probably watching DVD movies on his computer that have cute teenage girls wearing bikinis
and getting stiffys.

THIS IS NORMAL! DO NOT PANIC...DO NOT DO THE OVER THE TOP MOM THING! :)

You should be happy that hes doing it in a way thats appropriate and using self-control.
Since he has no internet connection, hes not downloading porn. He might be watching
anime chicks on his DVD's. Sure what hes doing seems strange to you...but this is teenage
boy behavior.

I did. Watched all sorts of stuff - you name it. Never did me any harm. What would be worse (in my opinion) is your mother checking on you every five minutes to see if you're having a w*k.

And I'm very proud of how you handled it, too. I only hope to be as calm and collected as you were about the detention incident. You have succeeded in creating the kind of atmosphere where he trusts you! Kudos!
