Can anyone tell me what you know about typical AS responses for the tests within this module? Examples: the choice of three toys to play with (the game, the spinning top that is a marker, and the pin impression thing). Another is the marriage question? What type of responses are more AS? If you have any ideas as to the NT responses versus the AS responses on any of these subtests of the ADOS module 3-- I would love your input.

You should try a group for psychologists. Why do you want to know? Answers to psychological tests are considered proprietary.

Add on knowing the answers and all ahead of time would make the tests highly inaccurate when actually performed I'd figure.

Sorry don't know anything about it. Has your son been evaluated using this assessment tool? It sounds pretty interesting.

I had questions regarding my son's answers for two of the subtests. He has already taken the test, but we have to wait another month to get the full reports back and the tester is out until then. She had mentioned what she was looking for as she did the test when we had an initial meeting, and I had forgotten the significance of the toy choice test and marriage question one.

A spinning top is the most autistic answer. I was fascinated with tops when I was a kid. I don't know what exactly the marriage question entails.

I assumed as much with the spinning top marker toy. He also gravitated toward a spinning 3-dimensional open globe type thing in another subtest. The last toy choice section he picked a car, put a string through the car windows and spun the car around in circles. SOOOO....I don't think I am going to be too surprised in a month to find out those were the more AS responses. I am curious to know how a NT 10 year old boy would respond to "Why do you get married?" Goodness--I can't answer that either :) Yes, I am starting to think I have AS traits now too--esp after I did the Myers Briggs! All kidding aside, there are far more concerning things than the ADOS test that he took, it is just another tool in the box for the dx.

Sungbugs, I have no idea what how they would answer that one, LOL. I have no idea how I would have answered, but I liked white wedding dresses so I might have said something about that. I'm sure the answers are normalized by asking a lot of kids that question.

What's your mbti type?

Tops: I was crazy about tops that had strings where you would throw the top to make it spin. I had a very hard time learning how to do it. I remember being on the patio near the garage and getting angry and my father taking my top and throwing it over the garage into the neighbor's yard where the dog chewed it. I'm sure he was exasperated with me. I cried and cired and he bought me a new top. I kept trying (perseverating?) until I learned how to spin the top with the string. I don't know why I was so interested and when I lost interest. I think I was 7 or 8 at that time.

INTJ--but I think I parent more like a INFJ. I have discovered more about myself in the past three weeks than I cared too. I was an elementary teacher, the only reason being so I could "save" some children, for one year, from having the awful experiences I had. My childhood and school experiences were pretty bad, but I did have a strong group of friends in high school that quickly forgave and put up with each other's strong personalities.

The marriage questions are meant to help the examiner look at the young persons understanding of relationships and commitment. I know it may feel a bit much to be asking a 10year old about this, but, believe me, the way the young person answers can give a wealth of information to help the assessment.
