I'm afraid that can be common with AS, coming off as self-centered. Which isn't quite as true as the perception indicates.

Talk to the other mom you know about all this. Ask her if she can help you find someone to guide you. It gets really tough when your parent isn't able to advocate for you, and works against you instead. I wish there was more that could be done on-line, but I'm not sure there is.
