The memories were so bad, that I wouldn't sleep at my parents house, three years ago, because I wear Depends. My mum kept throwing the questions at me. "Do you wet the bed?" " Do you have your period?" "Do you have diarrhea?"

"No mum...I have a soiling problem."

Than she told me that's no reason for me not to stay the night.

I am so sorry that this was so traumatic for you Cockney Rebel. I am taking your advice in dealing with my son's accidents. I think I may have figured out what is happening. For some reason he doesn't like to go #2. So I think what is happening is he is holding his #2 so tight, that he ends up peeing on himself. This started before I ever scolded him, so I don't think that is the reason he doesn't want to go #2. I think it is just that he doesn't like the experience in general. Either way, I am just trying not to get upset, and just clean him up and gently remind him that he needs to go to the toilet when he has to go. Hopefully, he will get past it at some point. I will keep my frustrations to myself! Thanks for the advice.

We've been dealing with constipation issues with my daugther since she was a toddler, but we seem to have it under control mostly now. Definitely, as confirmed by our pediatrician, an impacted bowel makes holding urine more difficult. My daughter went through a period of time where she was very constipated, and had wetting accidents often. When the constipation went away, so did the #1 accidents. There is hope! :)

Pumpkinmom-
My son has been having constipation issues since he was about 3 (almost 5 now). Thankfully, he has not had an impacted bowel yet. I don't think it is his diet that is causing the constipation since he eats fruit like it is going out of style! Also, does eat some veggies too. He did not have this problem from 0-3 yrs.old, so I think it is just that he is more aware now, and just doesn't like going #2. Thank goodness, the last few days, he has been going #2 almost everyday, so hopefully we are getting past some of the constipation issues!

Anybody still having these issues with a pre-teen? My stepson is going to be 13 in May and still has daytime pee (and near-poop) accidents! He’s also a nighttime bedwetter, though that’s a separate thing, of course.

He’s seen the doctor.. nothing physical wrong. We’re pretty sure it’s just that he doesn’t pay attention to what his body is telling him soon enough.

It’s awfully frustrating to have a kid this age sitting at the table doing his homework and just… pee himself.
