My son gets adaptive PE -- gym was a total nightmare for me, so I think it's the best thing ever invented. Having a PE teacher who understands disabilities, rather than one with that classic "gym teacher attitude" mentioned above is a wonderful thing; my son is *very* put off by loud, forceful adults.
