My son hates to go outside and he likes his room dark, he always has the shades pulled down and the curtains closed. The child pyscoligist (sp) says he might need some medication for anxiety...
Has the psychologist talked to him about how he's feeling when he does this? I ask because I have several friends with AS and they can't tolerate the sunlight. The avoid the outdoors and keep the shades drawn tightly while inside. It's a sensory thing, not anxiety, for them.
Our son has learned to balance his time well. He loves to be outside, walking or riding his bike, but he also loves playing ps2. He spends at least an hour a day outside, unless it is just pouring down rain.
