As a mom of a child with classic autism, I would advise you to be concerned and to seek a professional speech evaluation. Early intervention is essential.

For those out there with speech delayed toddlers, there are some great DVDs available at the website above. You can often find them used on Amazon.com.

My older son had severe speech delay, but I found that he was able to be greatly helped through intensive work with him on speech and meds for anxiety.
