I drink a lot of tea, water and the occasional pot of coffee on any given day. I have to keep drinking.

The NAS recently carried out a survey re fluid intake and had around 650 responses. Will post the outcome as soon as it becomes available. I'm including this in my fortnightly newsletter this week:

Drinking survey - thank you to participants

We should like to thank everyone who responded to our request for information on excessive drinking of liquids. The response has been overwhelming with almost 650 replies.

We are currently busy analysing the data and will let you have an update as soon as we are in a position. Given the large response this will take a little longer than was first anticipated but will be a better study.

Thank you again for your invaluable help in this important area.

NB The results of the survey will be published at www.autism.org.uk/research

Thanks, I'll try to remember and look that up. My husband drinks tons of water and has great skin. I'm chronically dehydrated, I'm ashamed to say.

It's probably much healthier than my ds. He hates to drink anything and is always constipated b/c of it. :(

Yea, being dehydrated can bring on constipation OR diarrhea. My son eats a lot of cheese and so I make sure that he gets lots of dietary fiber. He eats oatmeal with wheatgerm which helps a lot.
