My approach is to force the school system to do the RIGHT thing, the implementation of a personalized educational system, which the child is entitled to under IDEA. Understand special education law and force feed it to them. The current educational system is designed for children who learn better in groups. Well, that's not your children. There's no reason to accept it and make you and your child miserable simply because teachers are too lazy to understand. Beat them over the head with some facts. You have a lot of power to make a difference and your responsibility is to be an advocate, not to be nice to your child's teachers and the school administration because they are only looking out for themselves. In the US, the game is played like this: the school system denies services and you turn around and DEMAND them. They really can't deny them, but they will try to make you think they can.

I would suggest 2 books: "Special Education Law, Second Edition," Peter W.D. Wright and "From Emotions to Advocacy," Pam Wright and Pete Wright.
