One of the side effects of being so on top of Pop's development, education and manners is that we're often his only friends. He calls me sis a lot and wants to do a lot of stuff with us. It's nice that he can trust us, but it will probably complicate his adolescence. It's one of the main reasons we want him in school, to have peer acquaintances.

KimJ - Pop sounds cute. I remember the days when M would be happy to spend all his time doing things with us. He would even call his Grandparents to come over for a playdate. Once puberty hit, though, he dropped us completely and hasn't really found much to replace us with. We've been trying to adjust since. I miss hanging with him - he was good company.

The friend thing is fairly new. Before it was some kind of installed service-Instawaiter, instaentertainment, etc. the buddy attitude is new as his speech and humor have developed.
And yes, he constantly talks about grandma (my grandma) and wanting to see her. He doesn't get my parents at all.

I had a hard time fitting in with my cousins too, plus I had an over protective mom! She made it harder because she would prevent me from doing things with them...like going to movies unsupervised when I was 18! 8O

My kid once told me he needed to be overprotected. I wish there was a consensus on the best way to parent these kids.

So...host a poll. That should help.
