To be fair these mothers behave no differently to mothers in urban Melbourne schools. Cliquishness of mummy groups are universal. SO (unfortunately) is rudeness.
Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. If your son will be happy then do it for him...
You're so very right about cliquey mums, Cyberdad! They are everywhere not just in country towns.
So, I have found this most interesting...... last week the final week of school the class lists for next year were posted. Not one of the kids from the cliquey mum's group is in my sons'so class next year. There are 3 year 1 classes and they are all in the same one. I thought they might all be split between the 3 but no! There are only 2 kids from his class this year in his class next year. I mentioned this to my husband and he reckons the teacher had something to do with that as she is part of the clique. I'm not sure she has that much sway but she is part of the group, I do know that much.
I'm glad though. Fresh start, new mums and hopefully not a new clique.
