Lady Evil is pleased with her knew theme song (being a super hero I now have to refer to myself in the 3rd person).

Lady Evil appoints Kilroy as her personal assistant/pr manager.

Kilroy, where is Lady Evil needed now?

P.S. Do you like my new signature?

Lady Evil wants to know who played that song.

Give me a minute Kilroy, I'm going to start a new thread in the Haven called 'I am Lady Evil'

See you there in a few minutes.

Black Sabbath did that song, it was from they're album Heaven and Hell, released in 1980 (first with singer Ronnie James Dio) a personal favorite album of mine :P
I got to see them live just in March :P (the Dio line up reunited under the name Heaven and Hell)

I love your new avatar!! It is so expressive of the emotion you are feeling.

I feel your pain with the schools. Why do we have to fight so hard to get our children the education that is their right?????

Keep fighting Lady Evil!

I think the new one was great, but I really liked the old one too!

It just looked so "happy" when I looked at it, I could see this "happy dance" yet at the same time you are reading a rant that is anything but happy, it is kind of funny actually! There was nothing wrong with it, it is just kind of like a tiny Yorkie being a vicious dog if you know what I mean?

Have a good night.

AussieBoy told me about an incident at school today. He was looking at A's spelling homework (which is easier than AussieBoy obviously because English is A’s 2nd language). AussieBoy said to A “Your spelling is so much easier than mine.” (A typical Asperger’s observation – honest but unknowingly hurtful).

AussieBoy told me that his classroom teacher said, “The problem with you AussieBoy is that you always have to make other people feel bad to make yourself feel good.”

If this is an accurate recount by AussieBoy I find this statement very unhelpful and untrue.

Can't tell you how many times Z has made comments like this. His psychologist says that he cannot lie (he tries sometimes but really messes it up). Lieing is ultimately more harmful than the truth. Helping Ausieboy learn tact might be a good thing but I seriously believe that Aspie bluntness is needed to set some people back on their asses (pardon the lack of tact).

I don't like "Lady Evil", no offence, Kilroy. Too dark a connotation. Smelena is busy bringing enlightenment to those who dwell in the darkness of willful ignorance. Try "Raptor Lady", fits in with flying and attacking from a lofty position of truth. I love the "Eye of the Tiger " theme though.

Anyway keep up the battle, Smelena, I'm with you all the way. Need a sidekick, maybe something comical, like Footinmouthman?

Lady Evil is a...well here's the lyrics :P
and you can see what it "means" (though it was writen by Ronnie James Dio so who knows what it really means)
Lady Evil
There's a place just south of Witches' Valley
Where they say the wind won't blow
And they only speak in whispers of her name
There's a lady they say who feeds the darkness
It eats right from her hand
With a crying shout she'll search you out
And freeze you where you stand

Lady Evil, evil
She's a magical, mystical woman
Lady Evil, evil in my mind
She's queen of the night
All right!

In a place just south of Witches' Valley
Where they say the rain won't fall
Thunder cracks the sky, it makes you bleed, yeah
There's a lady they say who needs the darkness
She can't face the light
With an awful shout, she'll find you out
And have you for the night

Lady Evil, evil
She's a magical, mystical woman
Lady Evil, evil on my mind
She's queen of the night

So if you ever get to Witches' Valley
Don't dream or close your eyes
And never trust your shadow in the dark
'Cause there's a lady I know who takes your vision
And turns it all around
The things you see are what to be, lost and never found

Lady Evil, evil
She's a magical, mystical woman
Lady Evil, evil on my mind
She's queen of the night

She's the queen of sin
Look out, she'll pull you in!
Lady wonder!
---
pretty cool eh :D

Raptor Lady is very good, but Lady Evil is just so me!

I mean evil in a playful way. My husband regularly calls me evil. eg If I have cold, wet hands and he doesn't know - I'll go to give him a hug and slip my hands under his shirt. He'll shriek - aaaargh ... you're so evil!! In fact my friends call me evil too - as in cheeky!

I am an aethiest as are my friends so evil doesn't have the same meaning to you as a Christian. (not that I'm anti-Christian!).

A sidekick is good. So Footinmouthman .... I wonder what forces of ignorance we will need to battle this week!

I understand ur feelings with fighting with the school. I have been fighting with mine all year. They say that aspies dont have physical out bursts and are usually compassionate. They know that my six year old was deaf the first year and a half of his life. Now they blame it on that. I have a meeting tomorrow with them now that they finally evaluated him. My friends child was finally evaluated by the school after getting the dx from a neuropysch and they told her he has no disability. so she is fighting more with the school. my meeting is tomorrow morning and after they told me he failed his hearing test I took him to my doctor only to find out they were right. IF they say he only is this way because of his deafness then I am asking for an independent consultant to come in and do a reeval in the fall. At least then they will video tape the evaluation and show it to the school and me so then we can believe it.

I hope u can finally get everything u need for ur children. If u continue to have problems try calling PACER if they have that where u r at. They r a big help here in minnesota. They know the ropes and stand up for u and ur child amd make the school do what they need to do. Depending on tomorrow they may have to meet my advocate in an appeal meeting with the court.

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND FIGHT!! !! !! !

Well, I hung up on the special ed teacher yesterday. I just don't know what to do... We only have less then 4 weeks to the end of the school year, so I am hoping I can regroup over the summer. I am having my husband field the contact with them for the next few weeks.

He is currently getting a psycho ed, magically he jumped 6 months ahead on the waiting list! We shall see what delights that brings!

I have been told that I need to contact the anxiety clinic in our city to have him evaluated by the school. That seems to be their solution in leu of providing real support in core areas of the cirriculum. The good ol' "drug him".

Fortunately, I have had a contact via a local autsim support list I belong to email me out of the blue! She really seems to know what programs and services are available. We are going to arrange coffee when she gets back from being states side. I have a few leads on some social skills programs, reading comprehension programs designed for those with an ASD, and some good ol' fashioned advocacy.

I totally feel for you. We've been through problems with schools, mostly in California when our son was young, but now we are kind of going through some problems (not many) with the transition from elementary school to middle school.

I asked how much training in asperger's the middle school teachers get, and I'm under the impression that it is VERY LITTLE. We actually live in a great, highly rated school district, and STILL the teacher training in this particular syndrome is VERY LITTLE. I think they depend on a autism specialist, who we've seen very little of. I don't think the man is terribly effective.

Having said that, I honestly think our teachers, especially, are doing the absolute best they can with the knowledge they have. The trouble is, they don't have that much knowledge about asperger's in particular, because it's a relatively new diagnosis, and they are much better at handling ADHD kids, or kids with low IQ's. Asperger's is particularly perplexing for school staff because it seems as if every kid with Asperger's is so different.

I just feel like I have to be as nice as possible to the school staff (but I don't know how nice I would be in your situation, because you are absolutely right -- the late diagnosis is really a bummer, because early intervention gives you years to work on things) -- I mostly have to be nice because I think that, when I have to come down hard, they will know that I'm not kidding, and I know what I'm talking about. It's kind of a good cop/bad cop way of handling things.

We've been asking that my son be taken off learning support -- he only has had one class in reading, so it's no big deal. We came to the conclusion that he might do well by doing a reading lab instead, so we all compromised. He's not in the sixth grade reading class, which has 25 students, but he is in reading lab, that has 12. We also have pulled him out of speech and OT (at this stage, I don't think it's really necessary), and we are working on the problem that he has with finishing tests in the time frame given to students in the regular ed program.

I think you pick your battles. Decide what's absolutely vital to your son, and don't give on those issues. But try to be as easy-going as you can (which is hard, given the way things have been going). It may pay off later to be as nice as possible now.

Kris
