Just found out son has aspergers

First off, welcome to WP. My son is 10, ADHD/AS/Tourettes and a few other things thrown into the mix to keep things interesting. I would highly reccommend the book The Explosive Child by Dr. Ross Greene. it's like a bedside bible for us and his school used the techniques with great success.

For our situation, I ended up pulling him and homeschooling and that has been highly successful for him. He was in an awesome school who bent over backwards for us, but in the end, the whole schooling environment was by far too overstimulating for him. I could have upped his meds so that he could tolerate but I didn't think that was wise given that I could school him and keep his meds where they were at.

Threatening someone to break their jaw if they don't shut up isn't an Autism thing. I know many NTs who do stuff like that.
