It could be that people with AS aren't necessarily immature, but they just don't care about what people their own age are doing.

The people that I've met with AS don't come off as immature, because most of their interests are more cerebral.

Someone with AS is more likely to be labeled as "immature" if they do their own thing and don't "toe the line", AND their interest happens to be aimed at younger people.

hullo- oh i definatly was!!

i still say 'oh grow up' to things which annoy my (eg tv ariel, when the reception buzzes)- because that was the teling off i had most of all.
i finally grew up at about 25 (36 now), but was aware that i was definatly far below my peers at school, though a.s. typically advanced intelectually.

i was also physically behind- late puberty- which may have contributed to it. this was caused by being underweight- girls dont reach puberty until they are about 7stone, and because of my a.s aversion to almost eerything apart from toast, yoghurt, cake and chocolate, i was seriously underweight.

ive read elsewhere on WP people saying they were delayed in this way, but i dont think its hugely common in a.s, so perhaps its one of those things that is possibly unrelated. a certain % of a.s people will have anything- green eyes, etc- without it being related.

having said that, it does feel slightly a.s-ish in me...

I agree with the ones who said it depends WHAT you are measuring and ont he individual person. I think even someone who is NT would have a varied "age range" depending on what you are measuring and also their life experiences and interests etc.

Emotionally i know my daughter is younger, by maybe 2 years.

As for me

That about sums it up for me
