Does your kid have weird stuff he/she sleep with?

That's amazing - this post describes my 8yo son's bed totally!! !!

A dozen or so stuffed animals (we used to have a limit of five rule ...), a half-dozen books, manuals, and dictionaries... school papers, a few knick-knacks, and four blankets and quilts all piled together. Strangely, sheets are *not* required in his world, however, as I have had to make a rule about making sure sheets are on the bed before he goes to sleep.

Just curious: parents who tried to set a limit of stuffed animals in bed, why did you want to set a limit? I'm not trying to challenge you or be argumentative, I'm just curious because I can't think of why it would be bad to have too many stuffed animals in bed and I'm not a parent myself (sadly) so I'm probably missing the reason. So I was just wondering why limit it (or at least try to.) Thanks!

I'm curious too. I say if it comforts your kids, let them have a zoo.

I'm amused no end by this topic by the way. I hope you all enjoy your children's quirks as much as i do reading about them.

I sleep with a baseball bat while hugging a pillow tightly.

The baseball bat is for protection until I can get a gun. The pillow is for making me feel happy.

I sleep with a Fokltails puppet! He's a lovely green Dragon named Wantley (yes, after the poem), and he's been with me since my 16th birthday. I swear I have less bad dreams when he's with me.

I'm grown-up but I sleep with scores of plush animals, heaps of books and dictionaries, my graphing calculator, a bottle of water, and a holstered Sig 9mm in my bed. Math puzzle books and ink pens often make guest appearances when a new one comes in the mail until it's all solved up.

I wanted to do that with my Springfield XD-9mm but my Dad talked me out of it. It wasn't forbidden (as long as it was stored with an empty chamber Israeli style) but heavily discouraged.

I sleep with just blankets on my bed. I like the feel of multiple blankets during the winter but I often go without using any of them on a lot of summer nights. Other than that I have a pillow. I have a headboard too with a stereo, 2 of 3 of my alarm clocks (yes it really is that hard for me to wake up at times), and miscellaneous stuff.

Yeah - what's with the coat hangars? I find 2 or 3 in my DS's bed often. Just doesn't seem like the most comforting item to bring to bed

My 8 yr old daughter sleeps with me. Specifically - all squished up against me, lol. She loves to lay her head on my arm because she says it's comfortable and it takes her longer to fall asleep without it. So, every night I lay in bed waiting on her to fall asleep so I can pull my arm out from underneath her head because I can only fall asleep on my left side for some ret*d reason - I can never fall asleep while laying on my back.

My daughter likes to play with them, but not sleep with them. I usually find them hanging off of something in some weird looking hanging artwork that I then have to figure out how to take apart so I can use them.
