I'm really done here. What I mean is you win the battle that you've created out of nothing. I'm not going to keep returning to this conversation as I have a lot of other things to do and am finding it confusing and upsetting.

If anyone else is interested in my experience with inositol at all, please feel free to pm me. I'll look forward to hearing if anyone else has positive results.

Battle I created? You are the one coming at me. Get it straight. I answered your questions as best I could while you proceeded to insult and attempt to make me look like an idiot. Obviously that is your battle, not mine. Good grief. Leave me the hell alone if that's all you're after.

I purchased some Inositol yesterday-500 mg capsules. I broke open the capsule and gave my daughter 1/2 of it (250 mg) in her juice last night. I want to start small as she has reactions to meds. Just wanted to post here that we are giving it a try. My daughter has trouble with anxiety-both social and separation. I am hoping it might help these things. Will keep you posted...

Ok, make sure to follow up and let us know how it goes. My son is 10 and somewhere around 80 pounds. I am using powder. The dose on the bottle is 600mg or 1/4 tsp. I am giving my son 600mg 2x per day, so 1200mg. Started Monday night with 600mg, then started the 1200 on Tuesday. I will work up to 2400mg (or 1 tsp, 4 recommended servings). I do plan to talk to his psychiatrist about the dosage amount next time we go to see if she has any opinion. I am keeping a mood/sensory log.

I was saying it is expensive because a 2 oz bottle is $41 here. I made sure to research and find a high quality brand (GNC sounded good from reviews) because some reviews noted differences in quality between brands. If my son gets to and stays at 2400mg per day, the bottle will last 23 days. So that is $53 per month.

Also, I read some of the clinical trials for treatment of depression with inositol and the adults were getting 12grams, that is 12,000mg. I am just going to up it in increments I am comfortable with and see how it goes, hopefully get some input from a doctor.

I sure hope it ends up working for your kids. I found ours online from a reputable source for about $35 Australian dollars. I sure hope it works for everyone and that you're able to continue to afford it if it does.

I gave my daughter 500 mg last night (stepped up from 250 the night before). Sh had some trouble falling asleep last night even with Melatonin (seemed a bit more "hyper"). However this morning she woke up happy and not tired for the first time I can remember (except for weekends-she's always happy to wake up on weekends :D ). Don't know if it's related but I thought I'd mention it.

Yeah, I have noticed significant improvement in my son since Tuesday. I want to see if it continues or if it is a fluke. After about a month of improvement I will believe it is due to the inositol.

Specifically, he hugged me an my aunt with a normal hug 2 days in a row. He has only done this one other time in literally 2 years. By 'normal' I mean normal - bodies touching, face close to our face, arms all the way around the person.

He also has had very very little anxiety this week. Last week and for the past few weeks his anxiety has been extremely high.

Also, I had to wash his shorts tonight (both pairs are very dirty, he will only wear 2 pairs of shorts, he alternates, they are practically the same - same color, waist, material, length). He had no issue taking the shorts off and putting on pants for bed so I could wash his shorts. He has refused to do this in forever - change right before bed and wear pants for any reason.

These are MAJOR changes. But like I said, I will believe it after a month. These would be considered anxiety, sensory and need for sameness, the two biggest issues we have and the ones I believe Ominous said onositol helped her child with.

I appreciate you clarifying that you don't really know what you're talking about. :D So anyhow, inositol is helping my son. It's also a different chemical compound than calcium (supplement type) or magnesium (supplement type) and the benefits will not be the same taking inositol as they would be taking calcium and magnesium (ie. they are not interchangeable).

Back to the kitchen, I smell something burning!

What a ridiculous response. I read what was written and did or did not Meadow clearly say that you needed to see your chemist and that she was not an expert. Go back and read if you are unsure.
Now why are you requiring her to be? There is a reason. Something to do with being rude and unreasonable.
Don't ask for opinions if you can handle them. Don't expect everyone here to be an expert and if they say they aren't don't push for an expert's opinion.
SEE A CHEMIST. LOL

My daughter has had the inositol 5 days now. She had significant anxiety Thursday but it has been better since then. Today she was talking incessantly, which usually means she feels good. However, I have noticed she is holding her ears more than usual, so I am wondering if she is having increased auditory sensitivity. I will have to watch and see if this persists. It might not be related. So far I am seeing some improvement in her mood and decreased irritability.

Here is my log:

9/25 / Saturday / 600mgx2 (1 dose so far today) - Woke up in good mood. Did not use DSi. Up and playing with brother/watching TV for about 1 hr before playing computer, still has not touched DSi after being up for couple hours (he has woken up in a bad mood every morning and gone straight for the DSi, like I go for coffee, first time in 2 yrs he has not gone for the DSi first thing).

9/24 / Friday / 600mgx2 - no mood swings or anxiety, sat in high winds with no complaint. Back to abnormal hug. Said he had to go out on recess when it was raining, but the water on his glasses dried and is OK.

9/23 / Thursday / 600mgx2 - super good mood, no swings, no anxiety at all. Changed clothes before bed without issue, wore pants. Back to abnormal hug. Did not use umbrella during drizzle.

9/22 / Wednesday / 600mgx2 - Good mood from pick up, agitation before bed (foot hurt)

9/21 / Tuesday / 600mgx2 - Good mood from pick up, hugged Aunt Jan, normal hug, one mood swing

9/20 / Monday / 600mgx2 - Good mood from pick up, hugged Aunt Jan, normal hug. Little mood (normal) before bed

I am using powder - GNC brand. I mix it in a little bit of juice, not a whole glass, to make sure he drinks all of it.

From all my research, the brand (quality) really does make a difference. If you want, you can check out the reviews on Amazon to pick the brand to use. A lot of reviews said that the user did not have as good results with certain brands.
