EarthCalling, my mother is not mentally ill as such. I think she might be narcissistic (or somethiing like that). I means she loves herself first. I considered aspergers but she is too manipulative.

Any way, whenever she acts in her usual way and I complain to my husband, he says "Is the sun still shining?" In case my story isn't clear, he means "What else do You expect?"

So next time you have to deal with her and she disappoints you again, just think "Is the sun still shining? Am I still breathing."

One more thing and then you can get on topic again. I have inherited from my father a major depressive illness which she cannot understand. She says...gasp..she says (trying to be sympathetic) "I should never had children!" in a dramatic voice. Fancy not only robbing me of an existence, but also my beautiful children, and my beautiful grandchildren.

Corsarzs,
Thanks! I really enjoy hearing from you. You really have such wonderful wisdom. I have offered other people to take Sport_Rulz for a trade, but, am always turned down. Although, they always want to trade for little bit. But, I know I would miss Sport_Rulz after the 1st day. It's nice to have a break once and a while. Although, I worry about how he's behaving over there. There have been a couple places who haven't asked him to come back.

tam1klt2, Thank you for your words of encouragement. Sometimes when I comment I wonder if I am making any sense or just living in my own special world.

Regarding those who haven't asked Sport_Rulz (love the name, just don't let him think it is true) to visit again, don't cry about it unless the tears are for them because they are missing the opportunity of getting to know your wonderful child. When Z used to get upset because other children "didn't like" him I used to tell him this (he's reading this as I write) and he says "it worked.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner But I've been real hit and miss on my visits here the last few weeks. Catch ya later.

Your Mum doesn't know how to deal with the situation. At all.

Let's see.

They're usualy all obsessed with socializing. It will kill them to be alone for one second you know. Also sports, sex and religion.
