stop assuming that your children will have the same problems you had......that being overweight is the worst thing in the world....that being thin is the best thing in the world..............we are here to nurture our children regardless of their size, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
i had problems as a kid that were a result of my upbringing. i vowed that my children would not face those problems because i would make sure that they had great self esteem. the reality is, though, that sometimes bad things just happen. sometimes you can't fix everything. and sometimes, your kids will get hurt physically or emotionally by something someone says to them or does to them............all we can really do in the end is nurture and support who our kids are ~in the moment. that moment might change tomorrow...who knows?
