Looks like heading towards some diagnosis, after all...

Will you address the writing inside and/or outside of school? What accommodations would be made at school? (It was funny to me that **my** report recommended additional test taking time. Well, maybe I will go back to school.)
Mostly inside the school because this is where it is a problem. At home she can type or print - she has no difficulties with these - if she needs anything written down.I hope mostly for hiring a teacher aide, someone working specifically with her, especially to help her with keeping focused on writing. She can also obtain SI therapy and maybe something more, we'll see.

Interesting, I expect my daughter's eval would be similar (poor verbal, talent math and drawing). I am fortunate that our neighborhood public school is PBL (project-based learning). Years ago it was the pilot school for the program, and continues. Sadly the school gets lower standard test scores b/c of it (one factor of others), but it's a great fit for my daughter (and many others I suspect).
Wishing you well as you find what helps her thrive!

Your daughter is lucky for it! When is she evaluated?

Yes, she is. I try to remind myself that so far her experience is already better from mine. I am still scared for the future (b/c my experience was fairly awful... and I have General Anxiety ), but remind myself she is herself and these are different times and her experience relative to ASD will hopefully be gentler than mine.
Her intake papers are sitting empty on my desk. I find the dozen or so pages to fill out daunting given my current workplace stress, digesting my own ASD report and my (NT) husband is not in support of testing at this time ("she's doing fine"). She's 8. The social isolation is noticeable by me, but not others yet. The disparate abilities are noticeable by me, but not others yet. There is no significant negative impact... yet. I know they say the earlier the better to diagnose... I'll get around to it 2020 for sure.
My daughter is 8, too.
She started to have problems at school. If she didn't, I would probably have left her undiagnosed, just accepted as a visually thinking introvert. I'm not a fan of "the earlier the better" approach. As long as characteristics of a person can be accepted as difference, I think they shouldn't be regarded a disorder. My husband is somewhere borderline with a lot of autistic traits including poor social skills and sensory issues and he's living a nice life without any label.
If there weren't problems, I wouldn't have pursued a diagnosis. As the problems occured, I knew where to look.
