Recently, i made toe move from computers to music. both fascinate me to no end, and i spend many sleepless nights, like this one, on the computer. but i sure wish i could be obsessed with computers like i was before, because eventually i will need to pay some bills. now all i want to do is become a famous musician, lol.

Picklejah,

I currently have nine real cats and also collect various cat related items and love to read about cats. My family has been owned by cats since 1961, three years before I was born.

My 10 y/o one special interest is cats. Cats are pretty much are her theme in life. She collects suffed cats, they're the only toys she's interested in playing with 99% of the time. She writes and reads stories about cats, she has cat pictures all over her walls in her bedroom. It really sucks that I had to banish our 3 cats outside last spring when they discovered where my sister's cat had peed on the floor in one of the bedrooms while she was satying with us last year. They wanted to cover up the "invader" cat scent and I could not stop them from peeing there. I went through a month of cleaning, deodorizing, trying one product after another that dind't work. I finally got fed up and they became outdoor cats.

My son has a special interest about fish cold water, tropical and marine. He has five fish tank all bar one he has saved up and purchased himself.

He is also very clued up about cars and is a talented guitar and drum player but it is the fish that dominate the topic of conversation.

As a little farm kid, I was always interested in the sick animals and medicine. That evolved into infectious disease. It's still a hobby. I'm careful not to talk about it much - I don't want the FBI thinking I'm trying to become a terrorist - but my friends know. The come to me for help on their research programs sometimes. I've even been published twice, despite a degree and working in a different field (law). Whether the hobby stays a hobby or becomes a career, it's nice to have a strong interest.

My aspie child adores robots, all kinds of robots. He also takes apart things to make robots out of them (well, he tries). I hope he continues to enjoy them as he grows up.

mine started out with rocks and water, I would watch the rain or a river, or snow for hours. The river was what originally attracted me to rocks, much like krex my interests stemmed from my previous interests. I have to say that although my rock collection was really large, my parents allowing me to indulge by bringing home every rock of interest , eventually led to my fondness for geology (which I majored in in university)

My son is 6 and his obsession is computers. While at home he wants to be on the computer all day long and gets high anxiety if I limit his time. I usually let him on it a few hours a day except when we are playing as a family, outside time, games, etc. His mobile therapist says that his time should be limited to one hour a day, but my thoughts are; if he wanted to play sports all day would I limit that? Probably not. Why should I limit something that he is so good at?

Any thoughts?
