We go to church this last Sunday, and my 13 year old sits down at the front next to his friend, where they get ready to pass the Sacrament. Said friend leans over to my son, says something in his ear, and quite a fun exchange is obviously going on.
This morning, my son says that this friend announced to him on Sunday that the friend was JUST diagnosed with Aspergers, and my son's response is "cool ! !!" After which they apparently had quite the discussion. These two have always gotten along well, and I"m actually a little surprised (as was my son) that this kid received the diagnosis because he is more social than my son and has ALWAYS had good eye contact. He has other problems, from what his mother has told me, but I really didn't think he would be on the spectrum. Shows how much I know!
Point is, these two had fun discovering that each other has the same diagnosis. A fun thing to watch from afar.
