I am reading a book by a young aspergic teenager named Luke Jackson (Freaks Geeks and Asperger's Syndrome). In it he tells about a Gluten and Casein free diet which helps to aliveate some of the autistic characteristics, has anyone tried it and what were the results?

I also hear that lactose can affect those who are AS, anyone else hear about this? And what are the affects of lactose free diet?

casein , or sodium caseinate are both derivatives of milk. we tried the GFCF diet for 2 weeks. we didn't see much results for anyone except for me...i feel much better now that i'm not eating gluten or casein. it has made meal-planning a tad difficult, but the improvement in my health has been worth it. from most accounts, i've been told that in order to see improvements you need to try the GFCF diet for at least 3 months.

Here is link for a book about the diet, it also has recipes. All my immediate family have Aspergers and I am hoping this diet may help them in a small way. There may not be any differences because my children are now young adults and most of thier aspergic traits from childhood are now gone. But they do still have others. I know that it won't take thier Aspergers away. (what a horrible thought.) But it may help them cope with it a little easier.
And if nothing else may help my diet. lol.
