him: “I’m so glad I chose you to be my mom. I tried 1,357 and none of them would accept me. I guess because they didn’t like the way I looked .”

me: “How could that be, you’re so cute?”

him: “I guess people like different things.”

me: “That’s true.”

him: “But when I came to you, you threw your arms around me right away.”

sniff....

I would be so curious how he came up with the "I tried 1,357 of them."

Did you ask?

No doubt. Pure souls speak the truth. Its us cynics mired in the material who stand incredulous because we have forgotten who we are.

I actually do believe him, on some level. The idea that babies choose their parents resonates with me. I can see his spirit roaming around, trying to find the people who would love him the way he is.

He has described past lives to us, too. It's quite fascinating.

I actually belong to a religion that believes that we chose our families before we came to earth. I admit that I don't believe EVERYTHING about my particular religion, but quite frankly, I DO believe that your son's experience is real. I DO believe that he specifically chose YOU. Isn't that a wonderful thing?

What, so children with abusive parents gave up or wanted abusive parents?

Well, my little guy had to try over a thousand times to get the right ones. Obviously it's not easy. :D

Not making light of abuse here, and no I don't think people who have horrible parents wanted or deserved them.

I didn't just post this because I thought it was sweet. I also thought it was sad. Whether your interpret it literally or metaphorically, he's expressing a feeling of having experienced a lot of rejection.
