I'm not a parent or child but since this is the Parents' Discussion board I thought you all would appreciate this, and just in time for back-to-school! Just too funny. One I know posted this on her facebook page - actual message for an elementary school in Australia.

Great I love it, I wish that someone would do a university sector version of this school automated switchboard.

I once saw a list of suggestions for answer phone messages. Good ones included

"Archbishop of Canterbury's residence"
"Line four you are on air now !"

best of all was

"The number you have dialed is purely imaginary, please rotate by 90 degrees and redial"
