Who here would like to see an age rule for "Kids Crater"? I do. Grades 6 to 10 would be appropriate in my opinion. One poster is 19...I feel he/she shouldn't post there. Nobody really knows the age of the posters but there should still be some sort of rule.

I feel that it doesn't really matter as long as all topics/posts are appropriate for grades 6-10 or so.

Considering that kids on the spectrum tend to mature more slowly, and relate better to people younger or older than they are, I can understand why a 19 year old might want to hang out there.

What happens a lot is that members don't realize they've posted in the kid's section. Apparently the front page of WP just shows some random topics, but not what forum they are on, and many posters find threads that way. When I was modding the forum I made a point to read the crater regularly just to be sure that if an adult posted, it wasn't anything solicitous or inappropriate. I told the kids to ignore the occasional adult, that they probably got in there by accident.

I don't think an age rule would really be enforceable. If someone consistently posts and acts inappropriately, a mod will ask them to stop.

I often make replies, and than I realize that I've just posted, in the kid's crater. It's dead giveaway that I'm not a kid with my age and my avatars. I don't bother to erase a post, once I've made it because what's said is said.

Ditto! My real life best friend is 16 and I am 23. I think mentaly I am really 16 or 17. I think she's more mature than I am. I don't have a problem with adults posting in the kid's section unless it's something not family friendly. There's a Lion King thread in the kid's forum right now and since Lion King is one of my main special intrests, it wouldn't be right for me not to post. It was posted by a 20 year old. Most of us are kids at heart anyway.
