As yall know I've suspected the 8 year old of being on the spectrum perhaps AS. What made me think of AS once again is the aspect of special interest and being focused on ONE thing. For example take yesterday We're going shopping then Sea World Her: I DON'T WANT TO GO SHOPPING I WANT TO GO TO SEA WORLD NOW! I HATE SHOPPING ETC. Her "Focus" was strictly going/getting to Sea World (We have annual passes so it's really no big deal) We got there and they were PACKED we left and the 8 year old was crying upset (typical tantrum 8 year old behavior). But the "focus" on Sea World while all the others were enjoying shopping was interesting to me even the Disney store with toys and Disney stuff didn't sway her I WANT TO GO TO SEA WORLD I HATE SHOPPING! Yes she has a learning disability not AS (not diagnosed) but I see traits in her alot. I'm no expert and I know you parents of actual AS children hate me coming here talking of my little sisters so sorry.
That's more an example of the rigid thinking that Aspie's display. She had her mind set on one thing and nothing else was going to satisfy her. My daughter is known for her rigid thinking as well.

I hate shoppping too! I don't mind you talking about your little sisters at all, zeldapsychology, so please don't feel bad about posting here.
I agree with the previous poster that your little sister's behaviour sounds more like rigid and inflexible thinking than a special interest, although it's possibly a combination of the two.
Wow...I also hate shopping (unless it's for books, video games, or anime, because manga counts as a book). Some Aspies, as said by the other posters, can be rigid, so she could...anyway, you can talk about your sisters! I don't really mind.

I wouldn't dream of leaving a place my kids had been promised just because it was too crowded for my tastes UNLESS I had them both totally on-board for an alternative. A promise is a promise, ESPECIALLY if one is AS.

Thank You fellow parents. I just know some people seemed to have issue with my bringing up my little sisters Aspie like traits whether she's on the spectrum or not. I see alot of traits in both the 8 and 10 year old. (Perhaps me knowing of having AS now and my research I see the traits more in others) As I've heard many people on WP do you see the traits in a parent/relative etc. Thanks! I also agree it could be rigid thinking I didn't think of it as that I was intrigued on the "focus" of I JUST WANT TO GO TO SEA WORLD! BTW DW Mom we compromised on doing something fun the following day (today) and we plan on going to the movies tonight. Things are hard with the discipline issues I see as the older sister and the 10 year old with her rudeness. Whether it's Spectrum or X Disorder or 10 going on pre-teen years I don't know.
