My 3.5 year old daughter was dianosgned with Aspergers in Aug. and she is in public preschool here in town. I was so worried about my daughter I wrote a list of problems she may have(transtions, talking to people, sudden nosies etc.). Well to my suprise I got this letter today from her teacher.
"Addison is doing beautifully in school! She sits, listens, and participates at circle time, and she can answer questions. I have tried Addison sitting in a variety of spots at circle- at the end and in the middle between 2 children, and she does equally well. :) Addison is able to walk in line in all different positions. Addison asks a lot of questions about what others are doing and what she sees. She can be re-directed easily to pay attention to what she is doing. We had another fire drill yesterday and Addison did well with that upexpected activity!"

Makes me feel good, maybe I should give my daughter a little more credit than I have been.

When the circumstances are right, most of our kids can do really really well. Congratulations to your daughter! Enjoy the victories.

Sounds like that teacher is a keeper and that your daughter is adapting well. Continued success to you!

It feels so good to get that positive feedback! Kudos to your child's teacher.

At the times when I am most worried about how my son is going to do in a particular situation is when he usually surprises me by doing just fine. Afterwards, I often wonder at myself about why I worried so much but then I try to remember to just be happy!
