That's exactly what I did. It made a lot of things make sense to me that never did before. That's why I think it can be good to get a diagnosis even if, like me, you are an adult and will not be getting any treatment or therapy, because it is so useful to know WHY things happened the way they did.
There are parts of the movie that are like autism, but a lot that isn't. But I can see how a kid would grab onto that movie.
