Perhaps you should work on trying to be more compassionate (and less critical) toward yourself and others.

I dont think you would be a crap parent, I think it would probably do you good as you would focus on the babies needs and stop obsessing about your faults and feelings and concentrate on the childs needs insted, it would probably make you mature somewhat. Your a good person with integrity and beleive in doing the right thing so Im sure you would pull the emotional resourses from somewhere and be a very good father.

I asked the social worker about whether it was ethical to have children when you know you have aspergers. I had my children when I thought my problems were caused by my upbringing and did not know they were a hertitable condition, and wondered if it was ethical to have kids now I know. Especially so as by its nature aspergers means someone could be deficient in meeting others emotional needs. The social worker said that was 'daily mail' nonsence and that people with all disabilities had a right to have children, she said I met their need fine and was better than most parents she visited and did a better job in difficult circumstances than she could. She said she did her job as she beleived parents with problems should have support to do their job better, not because she thought they shouldnt have kids.

anyway if you dont want kids, always wear a condom!! !
