I believe it has calcium and magnesium in it. The body has to store magnesium because it can't live without it. Stress actually depletes magnesium. If magnesium becomes diminished enough, one can suffer a heart attack and die. It was suggested to me at a particular point and believe it saved my life based on the physical symptoms I was having at the time, including a hand tremor. Calcium is also extremely beneficial for many reasons. I don't take it anymore, but think it is a favorable thing to do.
So if I take a calcium/magnesium supplement already an inositol supplement wouldn't be of benefit? My anxiety is really bad, and the former only seems to help me calm down to sleep.
I can't say for certain but I think if you are taking a vitamin and mineral supplement, yes it might be redundant. I take a powder base vitamin and mineral supplement that I mix with apple juice. If you're taking pills, however, it might not be quite as beneficial due to a potential for poor absorption compared to the powder/liquid forms. That's my best guess about it, anyway.
