My son likes a girl in his class so he sent her a greeting card and made sure he put his return address in case she wanted to send him something too. About five times last week, this humongous grey van pulls in my driveway and just sits there for about a couple of minutes. It kept on going back and forth up and down the street. I figured the person was just lost and was trying a catch their breath and figure out where the heck they were. I wrote down their license plate just in case they were casing out my house. It had those black windows and I couldn't see the occupants. WELLLL....I brought my son to the public library where he went nuts because the girl was there doing an assignment. They hung out together and helped each other out because they had the same thing to do. Lo and behold... that big 'ol van was in the library parking lot!! The girl's mother WAS the driver of that van. I almost s**t. What the heck is that about? Any suggestions or comments?! ! He put our phone number inside the card. Why didn't she just call me or something if she was curious about my son's interest in her daughter? In the library, the women stood beside her daughter's older sister flalling her hands and saying, "What kind of boy is this?! Will someone please tell me what kind of boy is this?!" I kept my trap shut because I felt like she wasn't wrapped up too tight. I didn't want to have a confrontation with a nutjob. Plus, my son would have been furious. He and the girl are only 12. The girl is white. I'm biracial (white/black) and my very handsome son looks mediterranean. Could race be what she was talking about? I don't read people all that well especially when unexpected things happen.

hmm, it occurs to me that she could have thought that him sending her a greeting card with his adress may have been odd?

This mother sounds obsessively overprotective. I would avoid her.

Laughing too...I can just picture my mom standing there wringing her hands over a boy being near me when I was 12. They're 12 and in public....leave them alone!

I am sorry, but I had to LOL!! !! I know it is concerning, but I just can't imagine why the woman would decide to continue to do drive-bys of your house. This sounds like something I would have done with my teenage girlfriends when we liked a boy from school! I wish I had some advice.........
