Big Public Thank You
This is my first post to WP, even though I've been hanging out reading for just under two years - somehow I typed my username in incorrectly, even though I've been using the same name for the past 15 years. Just figured that out today....no wonder I couldn't log in.
I'll skip the long introduction here and just jump to the basics - I have a 10 year old Aspie son, diagnosed two years ago. Not long afterward, I found WP. My hobbies include annoying school administrators at IEP meetings, explaining to school OT's what stimming is and finding creative ways to deal with dysgraphia.
There are a few people that I would love to give a huge public thanks to - for generously sharing your insight and experiences with us here on the parents forum. If I don't mention your name, please don't take offense. There are many, many people here who post amazingly insightful posts and share their lives and experiences , but these are just two members who really stand out and made a definite difference in the lives of one young kid and his family. All of you here are appreciated though, even if not specifically named.
Tracker - Thank you so much for your posts and your book. It's a really rare thing for someone to able to articulate and execute a book like yours and even more rare to have access to your particular level of self-understanding and insight - all without change. I'm sure that I'm not alone in saying that you could easily charge money for your book. I know that wasn't your motivation when writing, but when I'm able I would like to make a small donation to WP, in your name. I think everyone should read it. I always have it with me on my Kindle, wherever I go. Thank you.
DW _a_ mom - Your posts always amaze me and usually make me either laugh or cry. You know exactly what to say, both to frustrated newbie parents, just starting out on their journey learning about ASD's and to parents (me) who are already halfway across the country on that crazy roadtrip. Even though I've never posted here before, and you've never answered a direct question of mine, you have given me so many ideas and different levels of understanding on how to help, support and parent my very own Aspie. Thank you.
Elizabeth
Aw, thanks. I'm glad to hear the effort actually helped. Wish I could keep up the involvement at the level I once had, but life is starting to take me elsewhere.
Tracker has a donations button on his web page now, btw. For those who want to "pay" for their copies of the book. His compromise on the issue. I think he has been an amazing gift to this board, and I hope a publisher picks up on his book and offers to take it to a broader audience.

O, thanks
I wasn't aware my book was available in kindle format. Does it read normal PDFs?
Thanks for the info about the donation button! I don't remember seeing that when I downloaded the book, but it was a few months ago ( and I wasn't looking for it).
And yes Tracker, Kindle reads standard PDF's, and your book looks great on there! There were a few extra empty pages at the end of sections, because of the way it gets formatted, but I don't think that's avoidable.
